Here are my thoughts—From the teacher who was a parent point of view
- As a teacher who also was a parent, one of my big things was that I wanted my own kids to do their homework themselves. I had an advantage on one hand of knowing the difference between guiding, helping and suggestions and doing it for them. There were times my kids were not so happy with this plan, and there were times, at the last minute I had to step in and help more than I wanted to.
- What I like about these one day science fair projects is that the way it is all set up, the kids can pretty much do it on their own. The parent can watch and be excited about it, but the temptations to jump in and do it for them won’t be there. Sometimes it will be hard as these are fun, and parents will want to put their kid hat back on and do it too! Which they can… after the child does it the first time!
- The other thing I like about this school science fair project resource is that they do not try to take advantage and over charge. This cost is a drop in the bucket compared to many other materials
